Looking Through the Threads

We are honored and elated to welcome Looking Through the Threads: One Artist’s Evolution through Textiles by Karen Hampton from New Mexico, to the Gallery! Karen is a weaver and fiber artist who has extended her process to dying her own fibers and multi-media, often using locally collected and grown plants. Her work is deeply conceptual, tying in politics, culture and history together with personal and societal issues. Three of the pieces are from her abolitionists series, which shone a light on little known members abolition community. Karen has shown nationally and internationally and was awarded an American Craft Council Fellowship in 2022.

This exhibit will open September 11 during Artwalk and continue through October. On October 11 at 11 AM PST we will host a zoom artist talk. All are welcome! Details to come.
